An Honest Review of The Billionaire Blog Club

An Honest Review of The Billionaire Blog Club

I’m probably what you would call a new blogger.  I started my mom blog less than a year ago when I was playing with ideas on how to make money at home.  I had recently quit my full time job to stay home with my son and I was looking for a way to use my brain and bring home some bacon.  I remember posting something on social media saying that I was looking for a job where I could work from home, in my pajamas, on my own schedule, and make more than $10 an hour.  I originally meant it as a joke, but after doing some research on Pinterest, I started to think that blogging might be the “dream job” I was looking for.  Although it seemed like a long shot (I had never built a website, written for a living, or done anything in the field of technology), I took the plunge and started a blog.  I taught myself a few things along the way and even started to make some money.  After a few months in the game, I decided it was time to invest in some actual blogging education.  If you’re a blogger, you probably know that there are a ton of different courses and ebooks about blogging.  From Pinterest, to affiliate marketing, to SEO, the options for online courses are endless.  I knew I wanted to improve my SEO and learning more about how to increase my traffic couldn’t hurt either.  That’s when a friend gave me her review of the Billionaire Blog Club. I did some research, trusted my friend, and dove head first into educating myself through BBC!

An Honest Review of the Billionaire Blog Club

What is the Billionaire Blog Club?

The Billionaire Blog Club, or BBC as I like to call it, is a blogging community that offers courses, books, challenges, and a helpful blogging community, that you can use to grow your blog.  I’m going to kick off with the honesty right here and tell you that I’m not a fan of the name.  The word “Billionaire” immediately makes me think that people are going to be filled with false hope or unrealistic expectations.  But, after doing some research, I found that that’s the goal of the group. The creator of BBC wants to have 1,000 members make a million dollars from blogging, making it the Billionaire Blog Club. I got behind the name, decided I was going to be one of those bloggers, and joined.

Why did I Join the Billionaire Blog Club?

I had done okay teaching myself how to blog (for free), but my page views and income had started to plateau.  I could continue to spend loads of time trying to teach myself the ins and outs of blogging, or I could spend a little money, use my time more wisely, and learn from someone who actually knows what they’re doing.  Out of the countless options, I chose Billionaire Blog Club for several reasons.

Paul (Scrivs), the creator of BBC, keeps it real.  We all want someone we can relate to, right?  While I can’t relate to the word “Billionaire”, I can relate to Paul.  From his emails, to his videos, you get a pretty good sense of who he is right off the bat.  On top of that, he doesn’t sugar coat things.  He lets you know that being successful at blogging is possible, but it’s gonna take work!  A little tough love goes a long way for me.

BBC covers everything.  There are courses on SEO, affiliate marketing, content creation, niche selection, WordPress, Google Analytics, Email Marketing, and Pinterest.  BBC offers courses on all the major blogging topics.

You get a lifetime membership.  This was probably the greatest selling point for me.  The thing about blogging is its always changing.  What strategies work today, might not work tomorrow.  The content on BBC is always being updated, which I think is priceless.

BBC members get access to the Slack community.  It’s basically like a Facebook group, but a lot cleaner.  If you have a question that you can’t find the answer to (or need answered quickly), all you have to do is post in on slack.  Anytime I’ve asked a question, Scrivs himself has answered me (within minutes).  If you’ve ever purchased an ebook or online course, you know how valuable it is to have the opportunity to ask questions at any time.  I’m not really sure how Scrivs is able to be so responsive and run multiple successful blogs, but I love it!  The other BBC members are helpful and engaged in the Slack community as well.  If you ask a question, it will undoubtedly be answered.

BBC offers 28 day blogging challenges.  The challenges include:

  • Getting your First 10k Pageviews
  • How to Reach $1000 in Revenue
  • How to Gain your First 1,000 Subscribers
  • Creating your First Paid Product

I’ll be honest here and say that I haven’t completed any of the challenges yet.  I’m working my way through the courses, then starting the Creating your First Paid Product challenge.  I love the fact that you can set a goal and learn what it takes to accomplish that goal within 28 days.  I will absolutely be updating this post once I complete the Creating your First Paid Product Challenge.

Cons of the Billionaire Blog Club

The only downside to BBC is the amount of information.  It’s a lot.  Which is technically what I want, but it is taking me a while to work through all the content.  There is so much to learn with blogging and BBC literally walks you through Every. Single. Step.  When I log in and see how much I have left to learn, I get that mixture of excitement and overwhelm.

Should you Invest in the Billionaire Blog Club?

If you’ve read any of my other posts, you probably know that I’m not a big fan of spending money.  When I started my blog, it took everything I had to press submit on the credit card payment for Bluehost (which was cheap)!  After that, I didn’t want to spend any more money on blogging.  I had decided that I would do my own research and teach myself how to blog as I went.  If I could go back and do it all again, I would have invested in BBC alot sooner.  I cringe thinking about the time I could have saved and the income I probably lost by trying to “teach myself” something that so many people have already perfected.  (Not to mention, it was a nice little deduction on my quarterly taxes that I now need to file because I’m SELF EMPLOYED!!  Taxes suck but the fact that I need to file them means I’m actually making an income from blogging!).  If you’re a new blogger who is trying to figure this whole thing out, or if you’ve been around awhile and you just keep spinning your wheels, I highly recommend BBC.  If you have any questions or want to chat more before you take the plunge, shoot me an email at alexandraleamullins@gmail.com or direct message me on Facebook!  I’d love to chat with you (and see your blog)!

If you’re interested in enrolling in BBC, it will be open from July 27, 2018 – August 3, 2018!  As members of BBC, we got an email from Scrivs saying that “it will open a couple more times this year, but I don’t know when.”

A Couple Stats for You

I purchased BBC on February 28, 2018.  Over the month of March, I started working though the content and implemented what I learned as I went.  I’ve not made it through all of the content yet, but I’ve already seen so much growth on my blog.  My pageviews went up by almost 30,000!  You can even see the jump when I really started implementing what I learned from BBC (and I’m not even through all of the content yet).  My income also jumped from $950.93 to $1,301.98 (that’s $351.05 increase)!  I’m not making billions, but I’m growing, which is my goal each and every month.
